This book is a monograph on acoustic fast multipole boundary element method. It systematically introduces the basic theory of acoustic boundary element method, the core algorithm of fast multipole accelerated solution and its engineering application.
 
Chapter 1 is the introduction of this book. Chapter 2-4 is the basic part of this book. It mainly introduces the theoretical basis of acoustic boundary element method, including the construction of Green function, integral theorem, singular integral processing, the general principle of boundary element model discretization and numerical expression format, and the algorithm flow of traditional acoustic boundary element method. In Chapter 5, the traditional boundary element method (BEM) combined with finite element method (FEM) is introduced to analyze the coupling problem between structure and acoustics. Chapter 6 introduces the theory of fast multipole boundary element method in free space in detail, which is the key link between the preceding and the following. Chapter 7-10 is a special section of the fast multipole boundary element method (FMBEM). It includes multi-connected domain, half-space acoustic problems, acoustic radiation modal analysis, and application of acoustic optimization design.
 
This book not only pays attention to the introduction of acoustic boundary element method, but also strives for the systematicness and rigor of mathematics. It is the accumulation of the author's research results and experience in the theory and application of acoustic fast multipole boundary element method.
 
This book can be used as a textbook for postgraduates majoring in acoustics analysis and control to learn boundary element method and its fast multipole acceleration algorithm, and also as a reference book for relevant engineers and researchers.
