The 43rd International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control Engineering (Inter-Noise 2014), was held in Melbourne, Australia from 16-19 November 2014. Prof. Weikang Jiang and his team member M.D. student Hongyun Tang , together with the delegator of cooperative company Dr. Zhenmao Zhong,  attended the conference. Furthermore, both Prof. Weikang Jiang and Hongyun Tang gave the oral presentation in the conference.

    The conference is sponsored by the International Institute of Noise Control Engineering (I-INCE), and is being organized by the Australian Acoustic Society (AAS). The theme of the conference is ‘Improving the Worldthrough Noise Control’. Over 1200 experts and scholars from all around the world were attracted to attend the conference. There are more than 700 oral presentations, 70 posters and 4 keynote lectures in this conference. The INTER-NOISE conferences have been held each year since 1972 at venues around the world.

    In the session ‘“Numerical methods in vibro-acoustics’ and ‘Machinery Noise and Vibration’, Prof. Weikang Jiang and Hongyun Tang gave the oral presentations - ‘Analytical and numerical approaches to predict radiated sound power of fluid-loaded cylindrical shells’ and ‘Numerical and experimental study on mechanism of low frequency noise from heat recovery steam generator’ respectively. They showed the latest research results and answered the questions from experts and scholars. Also, a lot of acceptance and advice about their research fruits has been received from colleagues in the session.

    During the conference, Prof. Jiang and his team listened to presentations of their research interests, and discussed and exchanged with peer researchers on academic questions. More creative thoughts and methods have been learned to apply to further research.
